LED Ring Lights

A ring light is a circle of LEDs with the camera sitting in the middle. That geometry is the whole point: light reaches the subject from every direction at once, shadows soften, and the eyes pick up a round catchlight that reads well on video. For presenters, streamers, and beauty creators, it is often the first light they buy, and sometimes the only one they need.

The model with a full published specification on this site is the flower-shaped 18 inch ring light, powered by battery. Its detail page lists power, LED count, dimming range, colour temperature range, colour rendering, beam angle, size, weight and run time. Those figures belong to that model alone and are not shared with any other ring light.

Size matters more than buyers sometimes expect. An 18 inch ring is large enough to light a face and shoulders evenly at a comfortable distance, while still being portable. Smaller rings suit a phone on a desk; larger rings suit a seated presenter or a two-person shot. The guide on buying a ring light explains how to match size to distance and framing.

Colour temperature is the second decision. A light that adjusts from warm white to daylight lets one lamp serve morning and evening shoots, indoor and outdoor settings, and different skin tones. The flower-shaped model adjusts from 3000K to 6000K, which covers that range. Stepless dimming, rather than fixed steps, lets the brightness be set exactly rather than approximately.

Battery power changes where a ring light can work. A battery model goes where mains power does not reach, which suits outdoor shoots, market stalls, and rooms with few outlets. The trade-off is run time, and the detail page states it plainly: more than two hours for the flower-shaped model, so a long session needs a charging plan.
